Does it need charging, batteries or an app?

None of the three. There are no electronics in it at all - it is a shaped acrylic lens in a folding frame. Unfold it and it works.

Will it fit my phone?

Yes. The base takes any modern smartphone, with or without a case, in portrait or landscape. There is no compatibility list because there is no connection to make.

Does it work in a bright room?

It is at its best in softer light - evenings, bedrooms, a plane cabin. Direct sunlight washes it out, the same way it does your phone. Turning your phone's brightness up makes a real difference.

How fast does it arrive, and what if I don't like it?

What it isn't
